Review on AKG K240 Studio Professional Headphones Bundle with Hard Shell Case - Superior Sound and Protection (2 Items) by Kitti Sak ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are several shortcomings, but, it corresponds to the norm.

Because of the buzz on the upper bass, the mid-range is squeezed. Details in the music are heard, but they are quieter, smaller than we would like. The high ones do not irritate, although they chirp a little. Evaluated on what I have - on the Yamaha 475 receiver. Through the Infinity Alpha 40 speakers, the sound is smoother and much more detailed, but in headphones - not at all. In general, I took headphones to play the Kawai CA78 electric piano. Bought online based on reviews. I thought that almost any would be suitable for such an application. Focused, first of all, on the convenience of landing (which was justified) and on reviews of an even sound. It turned out that the character of the sound on the piano is the same: the basses are pressing, they are not natural, buzzing; seconds in the lower octaves are smeared. On the built-in acoustics, which I consider a little muffled, the sound throughout the entire range is smooth and detailed. As a result, I do not want to use headphones. They only helped to understand that inexpensive headphones do not outperform inexpensive acoustics in anything. For the hundred and first time I repeat after others: listen to the headphones before buying in person! I wonder which headphones in this price range have less bass and brighter sound? The cheap Sennheiser MX170 earbuds, which are great for watching Youtube, are detailed, with weak bass, but too bright. I would like a golden mean.

Pros
  • Comfortable fit, although a little tight under the ears. Made with quality. Beautiful.
Cons
  • Dissatisfied with the sound. Possibly a fake, although it doesn't look like it. Or just a remake with the old name. I've been "warming up" them for 4 days now in mini-speaker mode for quiet background listening to the radio. Nothing changes. Specific complaints: the upper bass hangs over the rest of the range, and the bass is booming, tiring, resounding in the headphone cases. The middle is smaller - less detail by ear.
