Review on ๐Ÿˆ PetSafe Cat Door: 4-Way Locking Flaps for Exterior and Interior Doors - Regular or Big Cat, Litter Box Privacy - Weatherproof, Durable Frame - DIY Easy Install by Melissa Sanchez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Replaces the same model that lasted 5 years

In the description of this cat flap before opening it said that it checks the number of cats on the chip. I knew it wasn't when I bought it, but that could be slightly confusing for those new to this model. We use it on the screen door to let some rescue cats through the screened porch. The first lasted 5 years. I think the plastic was a bit stiffer on the older model. The lock is set to lock one side or the other of the door, or both sides. I definitely don't want a door like this leading straight into my house. The raccoon was able to pull this door (locked to enter but not locked to exit) out of frame. There was a small crack in the door, but it didn't break. I could use it again. But the raccoon would be in the house if the door led into the house. Going in but not going out is very dangerous if a raccoon comes in. According to this scenario, a raccoon walked in and it tore a HUGE hole in the porch screen when it couldn't get out the door.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Everything is fine
