Review on Digital Laser Infrared Thermometer Temperature Gun for Cooking, Air & Refrigerator -22℉~ 932℉ (-30℃ ~ 500℃) by Adam Gechem

This infrared thermometer is lightweight, easy to read and very accurate in measuring temperature. Initial accuracy was determined by comparing readings from two hand-held thermometers. The device has become a versatile tool in our household for regularly monitoring oven and fridge/freezer temperatures as well as getting instant readings for roasting, hot pan cooking and grilling. It's not designed to read the temperature of the food inside, but it does come with a free meat thermometer for that purpose. I used it recently at the beginning of our winter when checking the temperature of the outside walls in the house. I was able to determine if there were areas of insulation that would cause heat loss through drafts in cold weather. As a result, I was able to fix problem areas to get consistent readings. The device is ergonomically designed and the final temperature is held for display each time the trigger is released. The package includes easy-to-follow instructions, a standard AA battery, and an instant-read meat thermometer. Unfortunately, this temporary pistol does not come with a storage device. Afraid that the LED screen might get scratched over time, I keep it in a small cloth pouch I bought at the Dollar Store. Overall, this handy thermometer deserves a 5-star rating.
