We always bought TNF for our son but the price of everything went up and TNF switched to more synthetic filling and I was willing to go the other way. This coat fit the bill. We live in cold northern conditions and he said this coat keeps him warm and dry. The hood stays on, which is good. After being washed and machine dried, the coat survived two washes. The first time I dried it on a rope and the second time in an air dryer and each time the wool came out perfect and whole. No need to dry with tennis balls and it will not rot. I was really hoping it would last two winters and I'm glad I did. I'm deducting one star for two reasons: bulky for use in a car seat and the zippers on the pockets are difficult for a small child to use.
