I have one of those corkscrews that have wings that go up when you twist them and then push down to push the cork out. It works well, but sometimes I find it difficult to hold it and the bottle straight with one hand and twist the cap with the other. Also, I don't always push hard enough to get the blades up before the propeller gets far enough, then I have to do it twice. Also, the metal of the platter is not well designed, its edges are too thin so it hurts my fingers a bit to spin. I swear men with big hands and strong fingers create these things, and women or those with weaker or older fingers have trouble with the device. Anyway, this one has a motor so you don't have to push hard. It comes with a small drain and plug which is nice but I don't always use them. Especially when I drink straight from the bottle! hahaha. just kidding (mostly). I like that it's rechargeable so I don't have to hunt for batteries. but i have to remember to charge it. I think it will be a good gift for a hostess or other gift for those who love wine.
