The 2m cable was purchased because Startech is the only manufacturer I could find that offers a right angle (down-facing) micro USB plug. This configuration was necessary to allow for a more aesthetic installation of the Qi wireless charger on the windshield. After testing, the Startech cable was found to pass approximately 50% of the current supplied by any other cable manufacturer. The amount of current that flows through this cable is so small that the Qi charger cannot provide enough "signal" to charge the phone. charger and the charging status of the phone. With the Startech cable, the phone could not enter charging mode (although the Qi charger was recognized). Amps will show either "No Charging" or "Discharging" but never "Charging". I've tried another manufacturer's 6 foot cable (without the right angle plug) and have had good results. FYI, RAVPower 24W 4.8A Dual USB Car Charger with iSmart Technology for iPhone 6S iPad Samsung Galaxy LG Nexus Motorola Blackberry Nook External Batteries and More is black and works very well. I also used a USB 12V-5V to 3A buck converter. The Qi charger works very well with any other USB cable (even a very thin retractable cable). In case Startech's shorter cable can work with the charger I have ordered a 1m cable. I will update this review after testing it. EDIT: I just tried a 1m cable with the same results. Avoid this brand of cable. They either use lower quality copper or the conductors are smaller than those available in even the cheapest generic USB cables.
