These earphones are a bit big, but they are not really heavy. Instead, quality materials really help ensure it sits comfortably and without discomfort for hours of gaming or watching movies. I bought them for two main reasons: 1. My Px4 and later Razer Ultimate headphones needed a large separate box to act as a transceiver and translator from the PS4's optical output. You only have a small USB dongle - much easier to organize.2. None of my previous headphones had the ability to adjust the volume of the chat audio on the headset independently of the overall game audio. A game buddy told me about this feature, I grabbed my phone and ordered it. I couldn't be happier. What I didn't expect is the automatic output switching behavior. It's much better integrated than other headsets. In the past, the PS4 would automatically choose weird sound and microphone combinations based on when it was plugged into a headset. This switches sequentially from the HDMI output to the headset when the headset is plugged in. This means I can now easily (reliably) switch between watching a movie without the headset and getting back to a game without worrying about putting the headset through a jerky dance of unpairing and re-pairing or deep into the twirl ps4 settings. Flip the switch and go. 3D audio is also excellent, as well as other headsets that have required optical integration with the PS4 (and again without another small bundle of cables and a box that you have to manually turn on to play). TL; DR A: It's quite expensive, but it's worth it.
