Requires professional installation

I'm not a mechanic but I know how to handle a car to fix most things. If your car has never had a remote start, you will need a professional to install one. When I received it there were no instructions on the box. I looked for this starter kit on the Compustar website and for my car it said I just need to install the wiring harness. I took it to a local certified mechanic for my car and they couldn't install it. I needed more parts. So I took it to a professional installer and had to get something called a blade to install it. With another Benjamin and nearly 250 workers, I set up my remote launch. It is easy to use: press the button to lock or unlock, press and hold to start the engine. There is a 15 minute timer to stop the engine. Not sure if this can be reduced or increased, the timer was the same in my previous car so this works for me. It also locks the doors when starting the engine, which my previous car didn't have. And it has a safety feature to stop the engine if the brake is pressed before the key is turned to the "on" position. Very happy with this purchase. The two-way remote beeps when you lock or open the doors and beeps when the engine starts to let you know the action is complete. The lights on the remote control will flash approximately every 30 seconds to remind you the engine is running. I'm so glad I got this but the day after installation we had a cold snap, temperatures in the single digits and a few days of freezing morning temperatures. I didn't have to go out and freeze to start my jeep. The 3,000 foot range is enough to launch a Jeep from my chair in my detached garage.
