These were exactly what we were looking for & perfect for our front (glass) French doors (metal frame) where we hang blackout drapes during the hot summer months. The magnet stays in place for the most part. We pull the drapes to one side to let the light in until the sun comes around to the front of our house then we slide them back to cover the window until the sun goes down. Then we open them again. When we did this for the first time we realized the magnet wasn't as strong as we thought it would be because it slid down causing the rod to come apart. Once this happened we knew we just had to be a little more careful when sliding the heavy drape back & forth. This shouldn't be a problem if you don't slide the curtain or drape as much as we do. These were very nice. Really liked the finish & the color of the metal. They didn't look cheap at all. Considering these for our sunroom doors now.
