We need a smaller coffee maker to make 2-4 cups a day. We did a lot of research, read a lot of reviews and although this coffee maker was more expensive, we found the overall reviews to be the most positive. We were very satisfied. The coffee is very hot but not burnt when it's ready and has the flavor we've come to expect from brewed coffee. One of the keys we found is getting the coffee grounds texture right. Most pre-ground coffees are ground too fine for filter coffee machines. That's why we buy coffee beans and grind them ourselves.
