Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Enhance Your Gaming Experience with Nintendo Switch Wireless Battle Pad (Zelda) Gamecube Style Controller - Nintendo Switch by Ashley Long

Revainrating 5 out of 5

quality and performance. The perfect upgrade.

TL;DRGreat controller. Possibly better than the Pro Controller and definitely better than the PowerA in my opinion. The Turbo option is a bit inconsistent, but Turbo is a niche feature anyway. Otherwise everything works exactly as expected. High-quality plastic, high-quality buttons, reliable contact, good battery. The buttons along the bottom are a godsend for high-input gaming. 5/5, would buy again (probably buy second/third for friends). Controller for every casual gaming session. I tried the PowerA controller and it seemed like complete nonsense to me. Poor quality plastic, uncomfortable buttons, requires AA batteries. I sent it back right away. Then we bought a Pro Controller which my partner really liked because it looked like an Xbox. It's good, but it's too Xbox-like, which often causes me to confuse typing. We kept it but I don't use it. So I ordered HORI and fell in love immediately. It's similar to the original GameCube controllers with a few minor differences. It obviously has all the new inputs needed for a switch - Plus, Minus, Home, Shared, L-Bumper. However, this takes it a step further and also requires remapping of the bottom buttons, which is incredible for data-intensive games. The biggest difference purists might notice compared to the original GameCube controllers and this updated version of HORI is that the ZR and ZL buttons are just buttons. They are no longer pressure triggers. It doesn't matter since the Switch doesn't use pressure-sensitive buttons, but the difference is worth noting. Ultimately, I find it a near-perfect controller. As for transparency, I haven't tested the motion controls yet. If they're good, I'm too busy playing to go back and edit them. If traffic control is bad I will update the rating.
