I'll focus on an unexpected use: Removing a Stuck Filter Drain Plug: The Toyota/Lexus oil filter cap has a plug to drain the oil from the filter before the cap is removed. On some vehicles the connector will get stuck and if you try to remove it the entire cap in front of the connector will come loose. In this case I just remove the entire cap and then I have to remove the connector from the cap. The problem is holding the greasy plastic cap tight enough that I can remove the connector without damaging the cap. You can use this tool to do this: 1. Remove the red washer from the tool - it rests on the spring ring on the other side.2. Place the tool in a vise. Don't overtighten! If it slips later, you can tighten it as you need.3. Insert the cap into the tool. 4. Use an extension wrench that goes through the hole in the tool in the plug to loosen the plug from the cap.
