This manual earth auger works well on several different drains in my house. There is no instruction in the manual, but it is relatively easy to use. If necessary, you can always watch a video about manual augers. This auger has a 33-foot spring that's enough for all your domestic drain cleaning needs. The hand crank works well and provides enough power to cut through most blockages. I had to clean a drain in my basement where water is draining from my air conditioner. Every few weeks I noticed that this drain wouldn't drain. I tried Clog Remover but it only had a temporary fix. After using this auger my basement drain drains fine now. I also know what clogged the drain. I'm glad I saved the plumbing bill to clean the drain. This drill works well for me.
