Review on Nikwax Softshell Cleaning and Waterproofing Duo-Pack, 20 oz. / 600ml by Tricia Pence

I am an adventurous motorcyclist. Gear for this hobby can be insanely expensive. My Rev'it Tornado Textile Jacket cost $350 and it's a mid-range jacket! When I bought the jacket it was light cream in colour. After two years and thousands of miles, it turned gray. Dirt, road grime and lots of bugs will do with a jacket. Throw in 100+ degree Texan sun and the mud bakes. I've heard of people throwing their stuff in the washing machine with regular detergent. I'm a little shy about doing laundry because I destroyed half of my wife's beautiful lace pieces, so I decided to do some research. It turns out that Dutch-based Rev'it sells its own lingerie in Europe, but for the US I particularly recommend Nikwax. for their products. I bought a laundry and waterproofing bag. With Rev'it you can machine wash at a constant iron setting and then hang dry. I did this and the result looked like a brand new jacket. I just arrived from California and haven't used my waterproof thermal pad much, so haven't used waterproof materials yet. That will change, I'm in north Washington now (picture). However, I recommend the Nikwax cleaner for your expensive textile gear.
