Review on 🐼 Panda Long Range Wireless N USB Adapter - Enhanced with 150Mbps Speed and High Gain Antenna by Bradley Stewart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal! Required for Linux/Ubuntu users.

Worked great the first time on my wife's computer with Ubuntu 12.10 (Linux) as advertised. Plug and play indeed. I already set up a computer with very basic WiFi connection information (SSID, WPA2 password, etc.) to try and get a crappy Linksys adapter to work a few days ago and it failed as it should for a Linksys product is common. I searched on Revain and found this gem. Based on other reviews cheering its Linux compatibility, I ordered it and it arrived ahead of schedule. Less than 24 hours after my order I also received a very professional and helpful Revain support email directly from Panda (I've never had a third party offer me this extra service on a Revain order before). Someday. It arrived, I literally plugged the panda into the rear USB port, booted up the computer and it was instantly connected to our home WiFi network. No drivers were required (the company stated so in their support email) and no setup or customization was required. Simple and flawless operation right after the start. The Long Range model I bought has a simple and attractive design and very good workmanship. This is NOT a cheap plastic toy like many other brands. It's located almost 50ft from the 2Wire gateway in our house and picks up a signal through 3 walls of old 1920's concrete and mesh with an average signal strength of 94%-100% (all my old Linksys adapters in the past gave that). me about 50%-65% signal quality).

Pros
  • Network Adapter
Cons
  • Factor Set
