I’ve had several different brands and models of quick connector hose fittings. Some work better than ever; one brand is proprietary to the orange big box company, and I prefer not to patronize them if at all possible. Of the connectors I’ve had, including other brass models, this is the best I’ve had. The connection is accurate and secure - so far no leaking. After the season is finished I will remove them, make sure the mechanism are clean, lubricate them, change washers as needed and store for the winter. I think some people probably think "simple” mechanical devices such as these are maintenance free. That’s not true - a little bit of preventative maintenance is an essential investment!
