Works great. However, two things were not clear. Take the string first, not the big piece of leather. By pulling the cord you can cut ten feet in seconds. I started by trying to twist the piece of leather while holding the cutter firmly against it. It's just an exercise in frustration. Second, there are two sheet clamping areas. To me it seems like the power of cutting the second slit hid the first slit until I'm proud to have it open while fumbling. A slit that was obvious, exposing strips of cut lace that were at least twice as thick as I wanted. I started modifying the tool when I figured out the second slot.
