I bought this collar to use on our weekly visits to my mother-in-law's pond. Our dog is an American Bulldog/Labrador mix, brindle and loves to swim. Your property is over an acre and disappears quite easily after sunset. So I changed the color to green and now it's much easier to spot! The collar has a black rubber band for packing and I use it as extra insurance to keep the charging port rubber plug in place. It charges relatively quickly and after about 12 hours of use it still hasn't had to be recharged. It's also brighter than I expected. He's put hours in the water with it and there's no sign of flooding or loss of performance. The control button requires a firm press, but toggles through every time and has a positive "click" feel and sound. Multiple colors are visually appealing, but also practical. If multiple dogs are playing with these collars, they can be color coded for easy identification. The nylon webbing used in the construction feels thick and strong like anything I've seen, the D-ring for attaching the leash is solid, and the stitching feels solid. I really like this collar but it loses a star because of the plastic clasp. History has proven that the plastic fastener eventually becomes brittle and fails. Since we only use it once a week in warm weather, I expect many years of durability, but am skeptical about everyday durability.
