Review on πŸ’¦ OGX Replenishing Water Cream Hydrating Treatment, 6 Ounce - Improved for SEO by Kelsey Watson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not moisturizing but still good.

This review is for an 8-in-1 spray. I honestly don't know how to rate this spray. I have very fine 2A hair (I wrap it in a scarf to curl it; otherwise it's almost completely straight) with some discoloration damage at the ends making it dry and needing a lot of moisture, but my scalp tends to be greasy Side. I wash roots 2-3 times a week with dry shampoo and spritz oil on ends in between. I've been using OGX Coconut Oil Spray for a few years but it's no longer listed in the Subscribe and Save section and I can't find it in the stores I go to so I'm looking for an alternative. That's not it. I don't find it moisturizing in the slightest - on the contrary. I've used it four times already. The first time I sprayed it on dry hair that was in need of a wash it ended up being very dry, frizzy and completely unmanageable. I tied them in a ponytail and left them alone that day, but I couldn't help but notice that they were MUCH more volume than usual, which isn't easy to achieve with my hair. I then sprayed it mostly on the ends after washing and it was fine - again, extra moisture was out of the question, but the volume was a little more and it looked a little smoother and healthier than usual. Then I sprayed it on dry, unwashed hair - again mostly the ends - just before wrapping it in a scarf overnight and again it added volume but didn't moisturize. So I sprayed a lot more last night and today my day 3 unwashed roots didn't need any dry shampoo at all. Unfolded, combed and everything. The photo shows they don't look remotely oily, which is very, very unusual - my roots often get oily after a midday wash. You can also see that there is a lot of sagging, so it's not entirely smooth and seems quite dry, but it's firmer and looking a lot better than usual on day 3. So I think I'm sold? If it can reduce or eliminate the need for dry shampoo and add volume, I'm all for it. However, I still need something to give the ends a little more moisture.

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • Sad packaging
