Works very well. I've used this for various things. I train every day and all my sportswear is made from synthetic technical fibers that absorb odors better than cotton. I noticed I had a funk once and it was my gym clothes. Did a little looking and Hex has consistently gotten good reviews at a decent price. It works, has a pleasant but subtle scent and the bad smell is gone. I used it to clean some old shoes that I no longer wore because they looked dirty. I put them in the fridge with a bag and some hot water and soaked them overnight, then tossed them in the washing machine the next morning with another bag. The shoes came out almost new. I've tried hand washing them many times and the result wasn't even close. That alone justifies the cost of this detergent for me.
