Value set of alligator clips. This may not affect everyone, but they have a fairly high resistance (near ohms). This means that every ampere of current flowing through them drops one volt. This also means that they heat up well for a short time at higher currents. I think such conclusions should probably be drawn from a stronger (lower resistance) wire.
