This is a quality speaker in every way. The sound produced is clear, clean and articulate with good volume for the speaker's size. Don't get me wrong, it's quite big, but it still sounds a lot bigger than it actually is. It can also be very loud, although I don't use it for wall-shaking volume levels - I find I like it best for background music for late-night gaming with friends, or for a conversation, as it's full, rich, and detailed at no-pressure levels, at which no one feels uncomfortable (my wife has issues with low frequency pressure levels so our Marshall Woburn can be a problem and I have issues with high frequencies so 18kHz cutoff frequency is ideal. Two full range drivers handle everything I do ever used, from the jazz years of Zappa and the Mahavishnu Orchestra through to the Protugal, the latest The Man handles everything with ease applying to put the speaker in 'Night Mode' which takes some extra power and consumes it, to make the drivers even richer and more detailed at the expense of the overall volume It is not necessary, apart from a few small changes, and sel bst these are optional, so I won't talk about the cons of the app. This is the best portable speaker I've ever owned and it has become my personal companion. It's beaten a number by JBL, H/K, B&O, Marshall (although they're pretty close if you're loud and muscular) and Klipsch. I can't recommend enough.
