The product description says you don't need to soak this product to make it flexible. It's fairly flexible, but if you need a radius less than an inch, you can try soaking it and then find that the paper backing can delaminate and hidden seams can open up when you bend it. Think of it as thin strips of veneer being butt glued to a backing paper. It satisfied my needs, but only after I realized what I had actually bought.
