Review on 18 TB External HDD Western Digital WD Elements Desktop, USB 3.0, black by Agung ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice product, happy with my purchase and may buy again.

The thing that surprised me the most was that when I turned it on, nothing happened. For a brief moment, I even thought that the disk was broken; it wasn't until I picked it up that I felt a slight vibration from it. This was the thing that surprised me the most. It runs with hardly little noise or vibration at all. I am able to view high-definition video on it without any issues, and you can even watch video while transferring data at the same time. The rate at which data can be transferred is satisfactory to my needs. According to what I've read, WD heads fail when exposed to temperatures higher than 45 degrees Celsius. This is by far the most significant drawback of this drive; however, when taking into account the benefits, it is still a good model.

Pros
  • Extremely quiet. Price (I paid four thousand for it, which is not a lot for such an external drive; it's not very expensive). Does not vibrate (I placed it on the table not too far away from me, and I did not feel any vibration). Gorgeous look.
Cons
  • It gets to a temperature of 56 degrees and heats up quite a bit (especially quickly when working with a torrent when watching a video, the indicators are better)
