A very good antenna when properly tuned.

I researched a TON of OTA antennas before I bought this antenna. I'm glad I did. I wanted to reduce cable programming. Before purchasing this ClearStream 2V I also used a 9 x 9 inch bladed OTA antenna purchased from Costco that you tape/attach to the window. I had this in a guest room that was not hooked up to cable TV. On the 2nd floor. At my location (in San Diego) I am in the middle of about 4-5 TV tower farms. With all this, I received +30 channels with a cheaper antenna. The new ClearStream 2V antenna was intended to power 3 main TVs in the house including the guest room. I wanted to run 20ft, 50ft, and +75ft cables. I can't mount anything on the roof, so I built my own 10ft TV mast and it sits on my 2nd floor balcony patio. After doing some research and speaking to the folks at Antennas Direct (a good source for help) we decided that I would actually point the VHF box DIFFERENTLY than the UHF portion of the antenna. Using the major websites that everyone else uses that tells you WHERE all your TV towers are, I could move my antenna elements around until I reached the maximum number of channels. The VHF portion of this antenna snaps onto the top of this antenna. But I would suggest that you play with the position of the VHF part and maybe (I used zip ties which worked great) attach it to the mast at a DIFFERENT position/angle. Thanks to this I got the BEST overall results. I did some final channel scans and pulled out about +50 channels. Of course, my location is 650 feet above sea level, so I have a good chance of stretching a number of channels. But most people will have an advantage over me. because they have 360 degree exposure when they install this antenna UP on their roof. The results I got were only around 200 degrees instead of a full 360. Fast forward and I bought a Winegard LNA 200 preamp (after reading about its success). I figured that with my longer multi-TV cables, a preamp might help improve things. I added it to my mast about 8 inches below the antenna. Now I receive 80-85 channels. Of course there are some Spanish channels that I can't use. But I still get a lot of other good channels including all the major local networks ABC/NBC/CBS/PBS/CW etc. I even get a few LA versions of some of them. Also, there will be days/nights when some of your (distant) channels may fade/fade a bit from time to time. This happens with almost every antenna. But most of my channels are strong. how STRONG it will be. I read a TON of +1400 Revain reviews for this antenna and came to the conclusion that a lot of the people who left "bad reviews" were probably either in a bad place (signal wise) or just don't have put a lot of time into their antenna project, and I've learned that to get a bunch of channels it's not usually just pulled out of the box and thrown everywhere. I've also found that many people who have installed their antennas in the attic have gotten a "decent" function from their antenna. But I think you would be surprised how many channels you would get if you installed it outdoors. But for some people this was difficult because of the weather or the availability of the roof. But for those who argue, mount it outdoors. This is the best way to get the MAXIMUM out of this antenna. So if you're thinking of buying this antenna, do it. Actually this is a very good product. And unlike many other products you buy, the QUALITY of what you get from this product depends solely on how it is made. ANTENNAS are different. Much of what you GET from an antenna is determined by the EFFORT you put into getting the positioning and connection right. It doesn't take long before it actually connects. But if you plan to run more than one TV from it, or live in an area with poor line-of-sight to nearby TV towers, take the time to read what others have done and your chances of getting really good TV reception will increase significantly .
