Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Matters 6-Pack Heavy-Duty Extension Cables by Carlos Reyes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't think I'd need six of these, but.

I bought them to connect things to an extension cord. It seems that extension cord plugs are always too close together, especially when there is a transformer that plugs directly into the outlet. They're great for that. They are also good for cables that are too short. Maybe it's just me, but I have a couple of cables at home that were too short. My only problem is that I've already used all six. Find out! :-) 16AWG is thick enough to be used in large appliances like refrigerators as well as portable heaters. They are made as well as one could ask for and at a great price. There are many 18AWG cables on the market, but they are not strong enough to be used everywhere. If you notice your extension cord getting hot, this is a sign that the cord is not thick enough and should be replaced. I remember my dad melting down and lighting what was supposed to be a heavy duty extension cord while using his table saw. Every year, 500 people die from electrical fires in their homes. If you're going to go along with this statistic, be sure to save money and don't buy thick quality lines like these.
