No ledge or similar construction to prevent dirt or urine falling through the drawer to the floor of the toilet. The door (with very fragile hinge pins) is useless because it won't close once the cat is inside. It stays in the raised/open position on the cat's back or head. I used it to attach the bottom of a shovel holder that has a grid but no bottom. Which means it's practically useless. The shovel is thin and flexes in the grip. The tray has two reinforcing grooves on the bottom for rigidity, but dirt pick-up becomes a real problem. And perhaps worst of all, the garbage collection grate is attached to the front with two plastic snap-in swivels that make it impossible to pull out to unload! The only decent part of the build is that the drawer is deeper than most and holds a decent amount of junk. Unfortunately, this box is also going back. Oh, and the whole thing costs about $150 with taxes: the cost? Very poor!
