I had to take a razor blade and slightly increase the square clearance at the nose of these clamps to make them work on a 1982 Toyota 4x4 grille. Not sure if these are an aftermarket or factory grille replacement, but by simply removing the leading edge of each gap they snap into place perfectly. No big deal, just a few seconds at a time to get them working. Again, this might just be the grid I was working with, maybe not a clamp but FYI.
