TLDR: This screen size and resolution is unusual, but great for a portable monitor. The monitor's build quality leaves a lot to be desired, but given the uniqueness of the 2k 16:10 display, that seems reasonable. Competing monitors easily cost twice as much. I did some comparison shopping when buying a portable monitor and after buying 3 decided this is the one worth keeping. As with many lightweight/portable items, buying a portable monitor involves many compromises. As size, brightness, and resolution (2k, 4k) increase, portable monitors will eventually reach a point where they can no longer be detached from a single USB-C cable. Thankfully, this monitor seems to strike the right balance (big enough, bright enough, great resolution) while still being able to be powered by a single USB-C cable connected to my laptop. Display Quality: I compared this monitor to a more expensive 15.6-inch 1080p OLED display. While the OLED display is more suited to watching movies, I find this monitor better for editing and encoding documents. In addition to the better readability of texts due to the higher resolution, the 16:10 display worked better for me both vertically and horizontally. I like the 2k resolution very much and I find the brightness of this display completely sufficient. Please note that if you increase the brightness all the way to the end, the blacks will be washed out a bit. I set the brightness to 70%. Build Quality: The build quality of this monitor leaves a lot to be desired. I suspect it's less durable when thrown in a backpack than other metal displays. Features: It's great that there are full-size HDMI and VESA mounts on the back. You need to find the best portable monitor in this price range. The 2k display (16:10) is a fantastic form factor. To get a higher quality display from this form factor, look at something like the LG Gram, which costs more than twice as much and doesn't have HDMI or VESA holes.
