I drove the car until it warmed up. Allow to cool slightly so that the oil does not get too hot. Prime the pump on both sides with 3-in-1 oil. Connect the hoses in the direction of the arrow. at the pump. Make sure the pump is turned off before connecting to the battery posts. Oil filler cap removed. I turned on the pump and after a few seconds the old oil reached the pump. They kept pumping until air appeared in the intake manifold. Then I turned the pump off and waited 5 minutes, after the remaining oil had accumulated I turned it back on and it pumped some more until air came again. This is my first oil change on a used car that I recently bought so I wanted to do a little extra, after it ran out I poured an extra gallon and a half of fresh oil through the engine and let it sit for five. Protocol. After that I vacuumed it up and poured fresh synthetic oil into the engine. Years of slipping in the back, oil change in the driveway. no longer. Great little pump.
