I bought a huge double awning for our car. Summers in Southern California are hot and getting into a car is very uncomfortable. The shading fixture had grommets but I still felt I needed to attach the shading fabric more securely to the frame as we experience strong Santa Claus winds. After placing those extra tarp clips between the grommets along the high sides I feel the whole unit is much more stable and the wind doesn't tend to blow the shade fabric off the metal frame. That was about 3 months ago now. The old canvas material that came with the metal frame initially broke within a few months. The damage was where the grommets attached, so I knew I needed to reinforce those spots. I bought a much nicer blackout fabric with reinforced eyelet edges so buying these clips made sense. I like preventive measures. Saves me time, money and effort. I recommend these clips.
