Review on POLIVIAR French Press Coffee Maker, 34 Ounce with Teak Wood Handle, Double Wall Insulation & Dual-Filter Screen, Stainless Steel for Superior Coffee and Tea (Lava) by Julie Spalding

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Perfect for camp! Update: not much.

I bought this to replace a vintage aluminum coffee pot at my campsite. I chose this one because of the color and also because of the wooden handle and handle - it fits perfectly into the knotty pine interior and goes with some old stained pots etc. It works great and is easy to clean. No more filters to fiddle with and content stays warm for a reasonable amount of time. slightly outside the circle. This turned out to be purely cosmetic as the lid does not leak when pouring the coffee. That's why I chose four stars and not five. Bottom line: I love it, it's worth the price, makes great coffee and goes great with vintage decor if that's your thing. TO UPDATE! I would no longer recommend this item. From about the 8th to 10th use, I emptied the leftovers into the bin, holding the handle with one hand and scooping with the other as usual. Imagine my surprise when the wooden handle snapped into the screw hole and just ripped off with no more than normal earth shoveling force. So unfortunately I returned it and received some (not all) credits. I love the look of this press but I would replace it with an all stainless steel one like the one I have at home which I have been using for several years with no problems.
