*Important calibration note in this review!*5 stars for everything because it's a hygrometer: it's supposed to measure humidity, and it does. It also reads temperature, displays high and low temperature and humidity readings, and has a digital bar at the top with an arrow showing humidity from zero to 100% (technically, the instructions say the humidity range is 1-99% amounts to). Runs on 2 AAA batteries. Can be attached to the fridge with magnets on the back. Can stand upright on a table with a magnetized stand. This hygrometer can be calibrated and I calibrated mine using a "one step calibration kit" also purchased from Revain. So, either I'm lucky that I got a perfectly calibrated device out of the box, or AcuRite just delivers accurate hygrometers. You can get a hygrometer at Walmart for about $10, but I was willing to pay a little more for the accuracy and I think the price of this device is worth it. In any case, please read my size note below. CALIBRATION AND ACCURACY Calibration may take some time! I think all negative feedback comes from people who may not be aware of how slowly humidity changes, especially when calibrating. The calibration kit states that it must be kept in the calibration bag for a minimum of 24 hours. I strongly recommend leaving it inside longer. Right out of the box I hung the meter up for the day and it read somewhere between 60-65% humidity in the house. I put it in a separately purchased calibration bag that calibrates up to 75% humidity. It took 3 days to get to 71%. I almost took it out and calibrated it by 4 percentage points (up to 75%) but left it in. The next day it showed 72.8%. As it increased I figured to wait and see how high it would go. Eventually I forgot and four days later it was 74.9%. Back then, I took photos while it was still in my pocket. Moving the photo pack, the readings fluctuated to 75, 75.1, and then back to 75. But I mean, you can't get much more accurate information. %, so I recommend having your hygrometer calibrated and waiting for more than a day before writing a bad review about a "bad" hygrometer. Humidity is a variable thing, unlike temperature. (Although you probably don't even need to calibrate yours. AcuRite makes some pretty good products). So 5 stars. Accurate in temperature and humidity. I compared it to an old $10 hygrometer I had and they showed the same for temperature and humidity after I calibrated the AcuRite.
