Samsung DVD-VR375

I've had the recorder for about 3 weeks and so far I'm very satisfied. I connected it to a Samsung DLP LED widescreen TV with an HDMI cable. The resolution of the converted DVD movies is amazing. AnyNet+ feature allows you to control both Samsung devices from one remote control. But I naively thought that I could rip movies from premium satellite channels to DVD for later viewing; no "copy protected" films will be transferred; but you can record them using the VHS function of the recorder (the resolution suffers, of course). I assume that burning standard TV programs to rewritable DVDs for later viewing is not a problem. Although it doesn't have a tuner, the TV picture has definitely improved (I don't get HD broadcasts yet). I'm not sure why, but it's an undeniable and unexpected bonus. Finally, dubbing old VHS home movies to DVD is extremely easy and gives good results. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
