UPDATE 13 Aug 21: Received an unsolicited email from Revain informing me that they provided the "wrong amount" for my Roku refund and are refunding me the additional $14 they previously pinned me to. Maybe the email I sent to complain about this issue was finally read by someone in the customer service department. Or maybe they finally noticed that I replaced that stubborn Roku with a Fire Cube (which worked exceptionally well, btw). Anyway, I'm grateful to finally get a full refund on this Roku device. And also thank you for replacing it with the Fire Cube which is 4K capable when I upgrade my TV. UPDATE Feb 1st 21: I returned the Roku Ultra to the UPS Store per Revain's instructions and received a refund. Unfortunately, I was charged a "restocking fee" of $14, which was about 20% of my purchase price. When I contacted customer service I was told that this was applied automatically because I returned the item on February 1st. But when I set up a refund, the authorization said "Send by: Monday 1st February" and it was returned on that date. Very disappointed with it. UPDATE 15-Jan-21: Finally fed up and I've put it back in the box for return. When I reinstalled my old Roku 3, I was shocked to see how much faster it navigates apps compared to the stubborn Ultra. So the Ultra has a lot more problems than I initially thought. As others have pointed out, you can reset your device to bypass most issues, but that doesn't make sense. especially when Roku 3 works so well. Reading other reviews, it turns out that Roku has seen a significant drop in product quality over the past few years, which has coincided with a drop in customer support. If the Roku 3 dies (or I switch to a 4K device), I'll probably switch to Apple or Fire. Bought as a replacement for my Roku 3 which has always worked flawlessly. The Ultra synced perfectly, added all my apps, easy to use, good picture and sound quality. Problem? It doesn't always work. In particular, it freezes when you pause the content (black screen but the content is still playing). You'll have to return to the Roku home screen to regain control, then return to the app and start over (then you'll find that your content is five minutes later than where you left off, so if you try to rewind it will he interrupted again . . ). Does it on several different channels, so it's not the channel that's the problem. It also sometimes freezes and you can't even use the home button to get to the Roku home screen. It takes about a minute or two to finally thaw out, allowing you to return home to Roku. I use the repeat and pause features a lot, so this is definitely a deal breaker. I bought this for Dolby Atmos support, Bluetooth support, and more storage (faster performance). But it doesn't work consistently, so it's useless. Will likely return to Revain after Christmas and then back to Roku 3 (unless I decide to try an Apple streamer or Revain).
