As a new mum with a VERY high amount of milk, I have tried out several different nursing pads over the past few months. Here's my review of each: Johnson's Nursing Pads - Pack of 60: These are my FAVORITE pads of the day. They don't last as long as Amed, so they're not as reliable overnight. However, they are very soft and comfortable for delicate breasts. They also have a nice shape that is more discreet than other brands. I also like that they aren't packaged in pairs or individually, but are all disposed of together in one box. Yes, that means they're not as "sterile" as other brands, but they don't need to be unpacked every time you need a fresh pad, and you don't risk waking up with a crumpled wrapper. They have glue to attach them in the bra. Also, these are the only pads I know of that have a nipple indentation, meaning they're a little less traumatic for already sore nipples. Ameda 50 Count Noshow Premium Disposable Nursing Pads: These are the most absorbent nursing pads I have found. In fact, they're the only ones that keep me dry all night. However, they have no shape at all and are very noticeable when you wear a thin bra. They have no glue so they move inside your bra. Also, they are packaged in a very crumpled sleeve so when my baby is asleep I have to carry them to another room to open them so the baby isn't woken up (and he's sound asleep!). First Years - Lanolin Disposable Nursing Pads 30 pcs : These are the best pads in the early stages of breastfeeding when lanolin is soothing sore and cracked nipples. They are very cool and comfortable on your nipples. However, they don't last as much as Ameda. I've found that they need to be changed quite often to keep from feeling wet. Also, the edges of the pillow are scratchy and can be a bit uncomfortable during the day. Lansinoh 20265 Disposable Breast Pads Pack of 60: These are good all round pads. They'll keep a good beat, but not as much as Ameda or J&J. They have an adhesive strip that helps them stay in place in your bra and are very beneficial for long-term use. Make sure you get the "soft" version as the old style is much more scratchy and uncomfortable. Evenflo Comfort Select Nursing Pads, Pack of 48: These nursing pads absorb moisture well, but are not very comfortable. They have itchy stuff inside that tends to stick to cracked nipples when removed. They are also clearly visible through thin bras. Gerber Nursing Pads - Assorted Pack, 100 Pcs Quantity: FREE. These pads won't absorb even a single spill if you bleed profusely. You get wet immediately and my shirt gets wet. Also, they have no shape, so they bunch up and are visible through a bra and shirt. They also have no glue, so they will move. In general, it is completely useless for a strong flow of milk.
