For my purposes (mostly writing, zooming, spreadsheet) the picture is great. But: Apparently, the USB-C connection is poorly installed on these monitors. I just bought two of them. I'm running them from a CalDigit Thunderbolt Dock that works with a 2019 MacBook Pro. First I had a DisplayPort > Displayport and one from a CalDigit TB3 to USB-C port in the monitor. The DP monitor is fine, but the USB-C monitor randomly turns off for 2-3 seconds and then turns back on. I've read about this behavior with many monitor and dock settings. As far as I can tell, this is due to poor monitor performance for one of several reasons. I changed the cables; then another monitor showed the same behavior, i.e. the behavior is port specific and not monitor specific. I've tried at least 3 different Thunderbolt cables including a $40 cable from Apple. Same behavior. I left the CalDigit off the chain and plugged the monitor directly into the MBP's USB-C port. Without change. The monitor is getting enough power, but something is failing on the USB-C port. Then, haha, I tried booting the displayport adapter from CalDigit, so I exit the TB3 port on CalDigit and input the DP on the monitor. This eliminated accidental hiding. For some reason this monitor is now waking up very slowly, but logically it can't be a USB-C port error. These multi-monitor docks are great when they work, but they're finicky!
