Review on Renewed Razer Viper Ultimate Hyperspeed - Lightest Wireless Gaming Mouse with RGB Charging Dock by Gregory Castellanos

Revainrating 3 out of 5

1st generation switch, not very satisfied

If you buy an optical switch mouse, be aware that it is very soft, especially the first generation with serial number xx2036 and below. I have xx2026. It's not entirely the fault of the company restoring these mice. They did a fantastic job, they probably brought back a lot of first generation mice. I can best describe it when plastic meets plastic. These buttons are not very raised, the mouse itself is not very ergonomic for the palms because the back is too low. The dpi button is at the bottom. The charging station is good and I got it because my mamba and g703 had double click problems and I was looking for optical mice. Supposedly the new switches are better, but Razer as a company cannot even guarantee that their new models will come with a new switch, let alone a rebuild. I think it's better to get a mouse with mechanical switches from Razer. I've googled and they don't seem to fail as often as the Logitecs or Mamba I've had, which were probably 20mm Omrons. Just avoid this switch, the looks aren't worth it. There are no obvious defects on the mouse itself. The repair company did a great job. This rating refers to the mouse. Edit: I recently got my hands on a Basilisk and I like the form factor much better. This mouse will appeal to finger lovers and gamers, probably more so than me. I'm increasing it to 3 stars because it's a little unfair, I judge the ergonomics with the palm of my hand.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
