4 year old loves to climb and we were super nervous about him getting on the balcony alone somehow at our new place as it is the 14th floor so we had to childproof the door somehow. I tried other childproof methods for the door but nothing worked for the type of sliding door we have. This is probably not the recommended use of the product but there’s absolutely no way this 4 year old will get the door open on his own. He could reach the regular lock, so I put this child lock up high so only myself and his dad can undo it to go out there. The adhesive is strong and it helps ease our minds that he can’t get out there unless he is with one of us!
