You know better what you are doing and you have a lot of free time

Whilst this is a quality unit and has some merits I would recommend that you purchase something else if you are not very computer or radio proficient. While the NooElec website is complete, it doesn't really help you deal with the gimmicks that come with using it on a Windows or Linux PC. It is important to understand the drivers and the inevitable interference from other applications and their drivers. If you have more than one dongle, you'll need to find a free or paid serial port app to handle them. The free software available to use also requires some understanding of radios and computers. If you're good at both, it's a lot of fun.

Works decently well. Great for Am/FM radio, not quite sure about other applications.
