It all started when my dear husband and I got engaged 30 years ago. I've always grown up with artificial spruce and my husband has always grown up with live spruce. So we traded between them for the last 3 decades. After using an artificial Christmas tree for three years, we are back with a real Christmas tree. So I longed for new lights. I've always been prone to "chasing the light," so that's what I've been looking for. I didn't want to spend huge sums on new lamps. I found this filament of light which I hoped would be enough for the tiny 6 foot tree we were planning to buy. When the Lilliputian box was delivered I was a bit confused. When I started decorating the tree, I found I could go around it four times. (I'm sure they'll be a hassle if they have to be removed.) They came off the roll fairly easily and provided amazing coverage on the wood. There is no remote control. The controls are on the fork, but once you assign a preferred setting, it stays at that setting. The setting that looks most like a haunting light is blinking too fast and too bright. My son said he felt like he was going to have a seizure. However, the lights are bright and attractive. I was hoping to have a flicker or light tracking mode, but that wasn't available. Conclusion: I appreciate the small and flexible wire and the large coverage. I regret that there is no remote control and the settings are rather weak.
