Bought a standard 10" system with three filters under the sink knowing I would later swap out the filters for something better. The filters (5 micron + 2 carbon filters) could not filter the water well enough. Slag residue in boiled water - I use a gallon of boiled water per day in a special kettle/heater. Bought this pair of filters to replace the last pair of charcoal filters in the kit and the results are great. I have previously used the New Wave Enviro 10 stop water filter for many years, but in this new location I've moved to, the water is harder and it performed better than the usual triple filter. - Filter, but not quite suitable for this. This new pair seems to be better than the New Wave.
