The 18 inch cable barely fits my original Xbox 1.0. And it works. I didn't do a softmod, I did a TSOP firmware with 2TB Blue. So I can't say if it works with the softmod. As you can see in the picture I tried to cover the case with a cable covering one of the holes where the main screws go because that was the shortest distance between the DVD drive and the hard drive. There was an error. The cable cannot be routed all the way under the pull tab where the original cable goes. The point of this story is to tell you that if you want to use it on an Xbox you need to get a 24 inch cable.
