Installation was simple and easy and the lock/unlock mechanism to remove the basket worked smoothly. Although the basket is rated for a maximum load of 11 pounds, it carried our 13-pound Maltese safely during our bike rides around the neighborhood. Although we probably won't be using the basket as a portable bag, it's good to have that option if we need to use it that way. In addition to the main compartment, there are also two useful pockets - one on the outside and one on the inside with a zip. These small pockets are great for storing keys, cell phones and other small items. The only downside to the basket is that it blocks my wife's bike light. It's not the car's fault, but I thought I'd mention it so you know what to expect. To properly mount their headlight, I need to buy a clamp or handlebar extension. Overall we are very happy we added a basket to her bike and gave her a 5 star rating.
