Purchased to power a 5 x 4TB RAID 5 array (3 x WD RED drives and 2 x Seagate drives). After setup and formatting, the usable space was 14903.88 GB. I use this for home video, movies, audio etc and am currently in the process of transferring data to an array at 130MB/s. I tried a RAID 5 array on my PC just for fun (no hardware support for it) and got a solid 5kb/s, so a very significant difference from a HW array. Also, the software does all the setup, DIP switches can actually be ignored, except probably on older systems (e.g. pre-XP). The images show three screens for configuring/maintaining the array.*** UPDATE 9/1/20. It's been working for me since 8/3/20 and I've had no problems with it. I am connected to my motherboard via a USB 3.1 port and the average transfer speed is around 140 MB/s. I use HD Sentinel to monitor all my drives - in RAID, NVME and SATA and all RAID data is fully available to the application and the drives run MUCH cooler than my system where temperatures occasionally reach 50C. Now they work well at 36C and the FAN case keeps them clean and cool. Also, I wanted to mention the construction of this case, which is very, very good. The body itself is steel, not plastic, and feels incredibly solid. The trays are of course made of plastic, but still durable.
