Review on ๐Ÿšด Deda Mistral Tape Leather: Premium Quality Handlebar Tape for a Superior Cycling Experience by Trevor Bannister

functional commuter strap EDIT: Bad wear

Update, this material wears out very badly, the thin synthetic leather layer breaks and starts to form small cracks all over the upper. Instead of behaving like a brown cork and showing more of the brown cork, when it breaks it shows a black color that contrasts starkly with the brown. This also happened at the ends where you connect them very quickly. I would steer clear of this, I should have just gone with the streams, not three different types of bands that don't match or don't last long. I really like these things in my commuter car. I have the Brooks Antique Brown and it's a bit close in color but not quite there. I can't understand how spending $80 on a Brooks band will damage it the first time it gets hit, or if someone puts a handlebar on a bike rack. I also change my rod settings so often it's nice not having to worry about it. This material is hard, almost imperceptible. It stretches well when installed but not too much. I really want it to come a little longer. I wrapped it tight enough to hide the Deda logos and it was barely long enough. I would also like to wrap it tighter to give it a thicker feel as this material is quite thin and hard. It's far from soft so I wouldn't use it on my road bike as it's already numb. I leave my bike outside and this tape is really good when wet doesn't soak up anything although a bit slippery for commuting it doesn't bother me. This seems to be the prettiest, easiest to maintain and most durable taped brown option, especially if you want to customize the leather seat.
