So after taking a course on home wiring and seeing how nasty arcing faults can lead to arc flashes (usually explosions) I decided to go for a replacement Turn off conventional circuit breakers with this combination switch (can also receive GFCI protection in the circuit). Unfortunately I couldn't use them in place of my pigtail counterpart. They are a much better design (avoid the full pigtail method) by connecting directly to the panel. Unfortunately you need a special panel to use them - a panel I don't have. While a newer panel is a better choice, the install is (still) out of my reach, which is why they're back. You should install them in the main file. While arcing faults are not as common as they seem, when they do occur they can be catastrophic. Pay $50 (for a switch) and protect your home from fire or arc flash.
