My main concern was that in my trailer one bulb in the cab is reverse polarity and the other is standard (tested with a multimeter). I've had several 1156 LED bulbs that failed in a reverse socket, which is due to the nature of LEDs, but research shows that higher quality LEDs can use either polarity with the correct "drivers". Anyway, I got these and tried them - of course they work on both sockets! I'm excited. They definitely get hot if left on, but not as hot as incandescent bulbs. If you're expecting totally cool, it's not. But at an inch, you won't feel any heat at all, and you can certainly touch them without burning yourself. As for brightness, the pictures don't match them. They're brilliant white, which I prefer to almost yellow bulbs, and much brighter than the brightest 1156 bulbs you'll find. I'm sure they can match the brightness of daylight in my application and definitely reduce eye strain when working in my truck at night. LED bulbs in another. Each lamp has two bulbs. And it's literally the same device; the same connectors, internal reflectors and covers. They take the same voltage but are on different circuits in my trailer. These two devices even have the same polarity. And also. Spring. You can see the difference. And that doesn't even make it fair. I would happily recommend them to anyone who needs a 1156 for almost any purpose. I tested them on a 2015 Freightliner Evolution, with both dome lights (default polarity) and map lights. front (reverse polarity).
