With the return to hybrid learning, just under half of my students are in class and half are online at the same time. This means that all students (on or off) must be signed in to Google Meet online in order to interact. Since middle school students are not good at bringing their charged devices to class, we should always plug them into an outlet. This now means that every outlet in my room must have a surge protector that reaches every student desk. I've never bought more extension cords at once in my life but they are strewn all over the place because the students still have to be 6ft apart so they can't all stand together against the wall with outlets.
