It's expensive but worth it. I use this on my heater hoses, clutch line and air conditioning lines as they all run inches from my headers on my LS2 changer. Does not melt, no foreign smells. Very happy with them. The friction tape you receive is for wrapping the ends of the sleeve. I have found that the friction band unwinds a bit over time. If I were to do it again (or ever remove the tubing again) I'd still use duct tape, but I'd try to find some large heat shrink tubing. So you can put the hose on the friction belt and make it smaller. This prevents untwisting and provides a cleaner look.
